We spent the day here in a compact rental car and had a blast. The roads have many dips and must be approached in a zigzag manner or your car will bottom out. If you can, rent a jeep. You will be ab…Full review by melvin195

The tour of Arikok National Park was absolutely amazing. The deep blue water in contrast to the white foam of the breaking waves was unforgettable.Full review by Ken I

Just wanted to answer my own question. We visited in December. UTVs are not allowed. You do NOT need a 4x4 or jeep to tour most of the park. If you want to go to the Natural Pool you DO need a 4x4, but we didn't do this. We had just a regular sedan and we were fine. There are some drainage ditches, but we never bottomed out - just take it slow!

The island is small as the other responder indicated - so if you are downtown by the boat harbors, I would estimate 30 minutes at most. You will need a 4 wheel drive Jeep/truck/ATV to really experience the park. We spent about 4 hours to all day depending on what you want to do. The drive to the Natural Pool is about 40 minutes because the roads are so rough you must go slow, but to me well worth the time spent. The southern/eastern side of the park has the caves, Dos Playas, and Boca Prins. All are pretty spectacular to see. We spent probably about 6 hours in the park.

I would rent a jeep so you can fully explore the whole park without concern. I would agree that you need to budget a day so you can explore and see. That way there is no rushing around. The enterance where you go into to pay is full of information to read and there are walking paths and locations to drive into. Worth the time, a different landscape than home. They have a map on thier web site to help you plan. If you have spare time check out the donkey sanctuary. Waze app worked well guiding us around.
Could you offer more details about booking the ranger tour in the Aruba National Park - exactly what we want to do. I don't see it on the national park website and could only find private tours with high prices and too many extras. The tour itself is what we want. Thanks for your time!
